The Position:

We’re looking for a landscaper with strong work ethic, loves to work outdoors, and someone who has excellent customer relations skills.  Someone who can handle all landscaping needs. Also, someone who will be responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or home.

Requirements:

  • Has dependable transportation
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Reliable and willing to work Monday through Friday, 10 plus hour days during ALL weather conditions
  • Utilizes safe work practices
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Takes pride in the quality of work performed and be detailed oriented.
  • Ability in installing trees, shrubs, pavers and retaining walls.
  • Ability to work together with other team members to meet company standards every day.
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge in operating skid steer, backhoe loader, excavator, and trencher.

We’re looking for a lawn care technician with strong work ethic, loves to work outdoors, and someone who has excellent customer relations skills.  We are a full-service lawn maintenance company, the job applicant will be required to mow, trim, and blow debris from lawns, prune trees and shrubs, do spring and fall cleanups. Also, someone who is willing to work seasonal but also work during winter months doing snow removal.

  • Reliable and willing to work Monday through Friday, 10 plus hour days during ALL weather conditions.

Position Overview: Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Commercial Properties, Home Owner Associations, and Home Property irrigation systems; To ensure irrigation system is properly maintained and operating at peak efficiency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Install irrigation timers, piping and valves.
  • Troubleshoot and repair irrigation pipe and fittings, sprinklers heads.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and central irrigation control computers.
  • Perform general and seasonal system maintenance.
  • System start-ups, evaluation and winterization.
  • Perform backflow tests; Test irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers; Record detailed inspections.
  • Read diagrams and blueprints to layout and locate irrigation valves, timers and wiring.
  • Locate, excavate and repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Responsible for the purchasing of repair parts, keeping accurate inventory.
  • Keep work vehicle and equipment clean and organized.
  • Think critically to solve problems and complete repairs with minimal impact to lawn or landscape.
  • Effectively assess water efficiency and make adjustments to quickly correct over or under watering.
  • Be proactive with diagnosing and repairing any irrigation issues.
  • Complete daily paperwork as required by each job.
  • Perform accurate and timely recordkeeping.

Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US Driver License.
  • Extensive knowledge in irrigation system installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more and excavating/back filling necessary holes and trenches in a safe manner. · Ability to interact professionally with all customers, employees.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • +3yrs professional experience working with irrigation system installation, maintenance and repair.

Work Environment: This position requires physical abilities such as strength, manual dexterity, and must be able to perform all required functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the Irrigation Technician is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop or kneel. The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions. Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement and dirty/wet worksites.This position may be required to work on weekends, holidays and in emergency situations (“on-call” responsibilities).

Pay: $12-18 D.O.E

Working Relationships:

The Irrigation Technician will work closely with the Owners and other Irrigation Technicians, Operations Manager, Office Manager, Lawn Care Technician, Maintenance & Landscape Crew Members, Vendors, Property Managers and Clients. At all times, the Irrigation Technician is a representative of Blue Ribbon Landscape & Maintenace, and will conduct him/herself in an appropriate manner.

  • 1 Year of tree and scrub pruning experience

Pay Cap:  $14-$20 per hour DOE

Nature of work:  Blue Ribbon employee in this class uses a variety of tools and equipment to maintain grounds via spray applications to turf, trees, ornamentals and structures.  This employee helps determine the care and treatment necessary to maintain grounds in excellent condition.  To assure attractive and orderly landscape, non-routine problems concerning care and treatment of landscape plants and situations are to be referred to a supervisor.  This employee serves as a lead worker in providing quality of service to our customers.  This employee will experience some exposure to chemicals and must be self-motivated in an isolated environment.

Illustrative Examples of Work: 

  • Sprays lawns plants, shrubs, and trees with fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions.
  • Uses backpack or truck mounted sprayers.
  • Spreads fertilizers and ice melt with broadcast spreader
  • Reads and understands appropriate MSDS forms and product labels.
  • Performs repetitive lifting of bags up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintains vehicle and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance.
  • Routinely checks and maintains equipment and vehicles under their supervision.
  • Inspects property for potential problems and works with supervisor and customer to solve.
  • Fills out standard paperwork, route sheets, and signs off on lunch clock outs.
  • Completes tracking of customer job data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of grounds maintenance, and elementary horticultural practices.
  • Working knowledge of planting, cultivating, pruning, spraying and trimming requirements of typical flowers, shrubs and trees.
  • Skills for transportation of maintenance equipment, and ability to maneuver vehicles and trailers in difficult circumstances.
  • Ability to correctly make minor repairs on equipment and tools under their supervision.
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions, as well as make decisions in difficult situations.
  • Ability to set and operate sprinkler control boxes.
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of a group of employees including equals, and challenge them to excellence.
  • Ability to train other workers to meet company standards by leading thru example.
  • Working knowledge of plants and life cycles.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs without assisant and have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.

Education and Requirements:

  • High school education.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Pesticide applicators license.
  • Endorsements of laws and safety OH & OI
